Volunteer at our Foodbank
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis.
We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Food Donations
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.
We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally we send food to other nearby foodbanks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages. This ensures your donations go to help people wherever in the UK they are.
We regularly update our “shopping list” to let you know the items we need most.

Donating Money
Our foodbank is run by local people for local people, all monies received go directly to the food bank operation, purchasing food and other essentials i.e. toiletries. We have recently employed a General Manager who will help develop the work of the foodbank. Everyone else who works in and with, the Edinburgh NE foodbank, are unpaid, dedicated volunteers. We rely on the community’s support to ensure we can continue to stop people from going hungry. Can you invest in the future of our project and help us provide much-needed support to people in crisis in our community?
You can give regularly or just as a one off donation.
