how to help
Becoming a Friend of the Foodbank
Our Foodbank cannot support families without a little help from our friends. If you appreciate what we do and have a little extra to spare, consider becoming a Friend of the North East Edinburgh Foodbank and making a regular monthly donation. Even just £5 a month, the price of a coffee and a cake, can make a huge difference to us; allowing us to go the extra mile to support people in our community.
Thank you for considering becoming a Friend of the Foodbank – it really means a lot to us and the families we work with.
Become a Friend Today
Set up a standing order to regularly donate to our foodbank and help us help local people in crisis.
How to become a Friend of the Foodbank
As a Friend, you will receive a warm welcome from us. We will keep you updated throughout the year on our latest work and special projects.
Now, more than ever, we need more friends to regularly support our vital work. Through regular gifts we can fund new projects, designed to develop new services at food banks, helping people out of crisis faster.
Building upon our work – both now and in the future – is essential to helping people in crisis get back on track, and we can’t do this without your help.
Other ways to help
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.
We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally we send food to other nearby foodbanks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages. This ensures your donations go to help people wherever in the UK they are.
We regularly update our “shopping list” to let you know the items we need most.
Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.
At Edinburgh NE food bank we have had an amazing response to our request for volunteers, so at present we are not recruiting. This may change in the future, so please pop back to our web site and check if we need your help. Thank you for your interest and please remember we are always looking for food donations.
